Side 1
Gangsters (Clangsters DUB)

Side 2
Too Much Too Young (Piano Instrumental)
Why? (DUB)

Released as part of Record Store Day 2020 this three track dub 10" contains mixes which have remained under wraps for almost four decades or more. Housed in a retro dub plate cardboard sleeve, these versions prove that there were attempts to expand the Specials' sound as far back as their first single.

Clangsters* suggests that even back in mid '79 the band were thinking beyond their early ska stompers, while the Too Much Too Young Instrumental could have easily been included as part of the extended version of the track on the bands debut long player.

Over the years two alternative versions of Why? have been leaked on to the internet, this third version is perhaps the furthest ever the band delved into Dub territory.

*Named after the UK children's TV programme, The Clangers, who communicated via sounds made by swannee whistles.
