With the label now in the hands of Dammers & former Specials road manager Pete Hadfield, 2 Tone renewed an interest in long-standing commitments by signing their first new band in two years.

Formerly the IYA Volkswagons, Leicester band The Apollinaires consisted of Paul Tickle on vocals, brothers Francis & Tom Brown on guitars, Kraig Thurnbar on drums, James Hunt on bass & Simon Kirk on percussion.

'The Feeling's Gone' produced by Dammers, was recorded during a six day session at Leamington Spa with Rhoda Dakar on backing vocals, Stephen Leonard Williams on flute and fellow Leicesterians The Swinging Laurels bedhopping from The Fun Boy Three's 'The Telephone Always Rings' single to provide the horn section.

Dammers stands over the track but reckons his production was left wanting.
