Break Down The Door!
The most important single release since 'Ghost Town' demanding the release of Mandela from jail, became an anthem across the globe. It also marked something of a reunion to the label for Lynval Golding, Elvis Costello (who produced), Ranking Roger & Dave Wakeling. Caron Wheeler also featured on the single, who later carried the vocal on Soul II Soul's 'Back To Life' hit.
The song was recorded in a record four days and reached no. 9 in the UK charts.
Nelson Mandela was of course subsequently released in 1990, and Jerry Dammers was directly involved in the Artist Against Aparthied concert in Wembley statium in 1988.
